Use of wood dust

Use of wood dust for firing a kiln in Steeden

Specifically, we plan to convert one of our kilns at the Steeden plant to use wood pellets instead of lignite dust by the end of 2026.
To ensure that the resulting reduction of approximately 48.000 tonnes of CO₂ per year is both sustainable and officially recognised, we will use only pellets made from certified secondary wood.

We are also assessing whether it is technically feasible to convert additional kilns at Steeden to wood firing. This could achieve a further reduction of CO₂ emissions by 23.000 tonnes compared with using natural gas.
